Web 2.0 The Hook Up

Written on 01 November 2011 | Comments (0) | Posted in Link Goodies

The term Web 2.0 is associated with web applications that facilitate participatory information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design,[1] and collaboration on the World Wide Web. A Web 2.0 site allows users to interact and collaborate with each other in a social media dialogue as creators (prosumers) of user-generated content in a virtual community, in contrast to websites where users (consumers) are limited to the passive viewing of content that was created for them.

Note: This a very old blog post from my last blog (dated 21 January 2009) so while the links are old, they’re not bad reference point for some stuff.

Web 2.0, by now you’ve all heard this term, keyword, buzz word or whatever you wish to call it. However if you’re like me, someone who lives under a rock for 6 months and the other 6 in hibernation then you must be wondering what it’s all about. Web 2.0 is aimed to enhance creativity, information sharing, and collaboration among users. Social Networking sites (Facebook), blogs, wiki’s (Wikipedia) and folksonomies are all considered to be part of or have characteristics of Web 2.0.

While this is fine and dandy, today I’m going to be focusing on the design traits of Web 2.0 by giving you a nice list of links.

THE SEAL OF APPROVAL!

A Web 2.0 website would be nothing without those cute and cool (annoying) badges.

HARK! THE ROUNDED CORNERS

Apparently rounded corners are part of the Web 2.0 design trend. They’re nothing new but meh, here’s a bunch of links.

Icons

I’m always a sucker for cool looking icons to make a dull design look colorful.

The Man Is Making His Speech!

Speech bubbles used in blockquotes is something I never thought of in the past.!

Imagine those in the background!

I’ve always loved backgrounds; they always seem to being designs to life.

Over the Rainbow!

Colors have always been apart of design but here’s some links anyways.

You are….THE NAVIGATOR!

Wouldn’t be much of a list without some navigation links now, would it?

NOT WITHOUT THE AJAX!

While many people have their own definition of what Web 2.0 is, mine includes Ajax so here’s some links that I approve.
